To all who do not understand Afrikaans

27 Feb 08

Dear friends,
This is a total new venture and installed by my son so that I can reach you at any time anywhere and so that my letters do not clog up your email receiving point I sincerely hope it is going to work.

The blog name 'diemalmense' meaning the mad people is referring back to me so do not worry about it he (my son) feels that I lost it a bit ....

For you who could not understand the last letter I will just shortly give you an indication of what it entailed.
A Big digger called JCB dug a french drain last Monday in a couple of hours removed all the building rubble into it and covered it up according to french drain rules which saved us a tremendous amount of money- It would have taken 20 people 3 days to dig the hole and another 3 days to fill it up and cover it...it leaves us with the solution we needed for the sewerage system that is totally outdated and we got rid of everything in the lower field that was classified as rubble !!! great the place is clean and tidy again.

Weather wise - it was great in many ways but also extremely cold....-5- to -7 ...one nearly prefers the rain and wet weather to the brilliant sunshine and freezing cold but we do not complain today started off magnificently and although it was only 2 dg the sun shone till 1pm and since then it became overcast and the temp went up to 9dg.

The daffodils are all in bud and we hope to have a sea of colour soon! The tulips are about 3 weeks away from budding ....the plum tree is covered in blossoms and Ireland is waking up.
It is still too wet to cut the grass the lawn mover will seize

Work is as always a great challenge and I enjoy it very much never a dull moment!

The parish in Mullingar where we worshipped first has been expelled from the building the church was built 3 centuries ago and has become a health and safety risk so they have to find alternative accommodation for a fast growing parish...1/2 from South Africa.

We are very fortunate to have an enormous building and in good condition recently renovated!
...but sadly with a member total of 25!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now to those who wrote letters Althea, Dorothy, Joy in Australia,Thilo who is moving tomorrow 28th, Sue in Canada but most of all thanks to Trish my dear friend ....so glad to have heard from you miss our lunch dates tremendously--- it is great to hear from you all!
I do understand that you read the letters and get on with your lives I do not expect you to answer every time so as long as I know you are all well ...this is my way of keeping in touch with the outside world ___the sun drenched countries........
Birthdays this week Angie and Laurel!!! Happy Birthday!! stay young!!!
I love and leave you for now!
Take care
Christina
