Wonderful News!
Lukas Liam Dunne, born on 23 April 2010 at 22h48 weighing 7lb 8 oz. Healthy! Mother and baby both well!

I am still totally confused and disorientated, yesterday was surely the longest day I had in years! I travelled with Amanda by txt(sms) from home to the labour ward until baby was born!
We are truly sorry that we cannot be with them but I have to work tonight and it would just not be feasible to travel to Dublin and back in a few hours. Thank you for Emailing and that we could see what Lukas looks like nearly immediately!
Congratulations also to Amanda’s parents with the birth of their so mannieth grand child! May he bring you all great joy! Wonder if he will become a doctor one day?????
We thank the Lord for this wonderful blessing!
The air travel chaos with people stranded everywhere meant that our SA doctors ‘ lists were cancelled and we had no overnight patients and although I was scheduled to be back at work last Wednesday night ,everything was cancelled and I am only back at work tonight! Working 4 nights and then there is Barry’s cardiac assessment on Thursday and then we will travel to Dublin!!!! God willing!
The north wind has moved in and made space for icy conditions within the spring temp of 10-15 degrees and today the sun is hiding behind a thick white layer of cotton wool clouds!
Everywhere there is new live, the blooms on the crab apple trees will be open next week and with a bit of good fortune the blossoms on the pear and apple trees will not be far behind!
The roses are looking good and the pleasure of abundant daffodils is coming to an end! The tulips have taken over and display the most fantastic colours and patrons thinkable!
The grass has been cut x2 and our garden set looks good in the back garden! The deacon benches have become pot and flower holders! We got requested 2 quotes for replacing the present front door and the single glazed windows and are waiting in anticipation! In an effort to keep heat in the front of the house still needs double glazed windows!
The English politics makes you nauseous(won’t say anything about the unscrupulous behaviour of our own Politians) and we can only pray that the Lord will have mercy on all who live in Brattain and one day on us!
Trish Starnes is having her birthday today! Trish I pray that you will read this letter and get the best wishes we forward to you!! Any other birthdays I am not aware of, please enjoy your Birthdays!
Those who are studying, writing exams and preparing themselves for university exits, may it go well with all of you!
To the farmers everything of the best with crops, eggs, pigs, game! May it rain where it is dry!
I do miss my greetings to our departed tante Poppie!
Those who are not interested in the goose saga Exit NOW!
If there was something or somebody that has given Barry grey hairs it is this pack of geese!
Prince Scruffie, defending his harem with evil eyes and snake hissing for a different planet, demands little attention. Madam the goose who laid the most eggs in the world sat on the nest for 3 days and decided it is much nicer to swim! Off she went! All those eggs gone to the trash! Ruthie is still sitting day11 and she hardly move off the eggs, Come out for little water and a nibble and back on the eggs! The other 3 hens are still laying thus it will be some time before they start getting broody!
The grass is growing well with the wonderful free manure spreading naturally as well as from the tank overflow and when we empty the swimming tank!
The growth all over is far behind and we are only really now in the end of March!
The skies are clear at night and we enjoy looking at the stars! They are so bright and magnificent! It has been dry and terrible gorse fires have been reported and many acres of land has been devoured by fires, not something we are used to in this usually wet island!
I will forward a picture of our grandson as soon as I get a chance!
Save travel mercies we pray for Arnolda!
Please be diligent in applying safety measures!
Joy, I wonder if you are back from NZ yet!?
Love to hear from everyone!
Regards from house to house!
Oupa and Ouma Dunne fromCranleymore!
