Good day to you all,
I am going to give you a short summary of events from this week ,some weather information, general news and good news!
I worked 3 nights this week Monday Tuesday and Wednesday nights...On my arrival to the ward on Monday night I was not even given the change to say good day to any-one they were so eager to tell me that my name was drawn from a hat and that I have to spend the night in the nursing home....so of I went.
I worked there about a year ago ,,,since then all has changed, the method of keeping the medicines ,new clients and for accreditation purposes paper work that comes out your ears.
Well the nurse that worked there that night actually retired 5 years ago but they keep on calling her back when they need her ,I know her well and we work well together.
They old people know immediately that a stranger is on the floor and use all the tricks in the book to make live difficult and 2/3 are high dependency clients. I found it a terrible night just so difficult to take care of such a large number of people .give out tea, then medicines, and then the pad round, toilet round and commode round. it was long passed 12 midnight when we eventually had a cup of tea and I did not enjoy it at all as I was sopping wet from perspiring and the awful realization that we all will get old and pray that the Lord will give you grace that you will not be dependent on other people for your toilet hygiene! and that you stay sound of mind!!!
On my arrival home I told Barry to fetch my dressing gown and I changed inside the front door just to get rid of my clothes and the smell that clinged to me.... I showered even before I had a cup of tea! I was so tired that I could not fall asleep...and for the first time in many months I cramped in the lower leg muscles so badly that I jumped out of bed yelling for help! No, I felt that the amount of work and the patient load far exceed all human endurance!!!!
The next night I stayed on the top floor I wondered why I had to go down but I suppose that is how it worked out and I must count every blessing and be very thankful that I still have a job. I did find out that night that all the other nurses refused to go down .but that is not in my nature although next time I will be firm and remind them I did my share...The nurse that works there usually has a trapped nerve and a bulging disc ,booked off for 6 weeks, no wonder she could not last!
Enough moaning....the weather is very much like the report usually given by Haas DAs in 1975 those who can remember it. Rain everywhere with sunshine now and again winds will be strong to blistery with sleet hail and snow which will clear from the south with some dry patches in the east.Rough seas expected. Generally a good day!it is nearly SPRING...not altogether yet...but it does try to appear every now and again temperatures are actually most days above 10 and days are much longer that a month ago.
The blossoms on my cherry tree is out and every other plant has got new leaves coming out. The rhubarb stands 10 inches high and the grass needs cutting. The birds are the best fed in Ireland and they even appear to be fat! The music from their singing is beautiful and give such a wonderful effect of harmony and happiness..you can only enjoy it!
Barry has been working very hard! The neighbour gave us some of the trees in his fields he wants cut down and then the wood is ours. I helped Barry where I can but the field is so wet and the mud sucks you in and if you do not know how to manoeuvre in this messy muddy conditions you can easily land on your backside which I did several times , I was covered in mud from my crown to my ankles.. had a good laugh about it and looked a picture of good fun!
My computer refuses to send some emails out and my email address christinadunne456@gmail.com has stopped working for some or other reason...so please use either the one this email comes from or flybytazz@hotmail.com / flybytazz@gmail.com
We went shopping yesterday for a new computer...this computer has a inherent virus in and gives us a lot of grieve...it crashes about 6x a day and the most unwanted rubbish appears on the screen from no-where! it needs to be emptied of all info cleared and reloaded...I just do not have time and the knowledge to do it and in the process risk to loose all. my photo album consist out of more that 1000 foots and I will be very sad If I loose that! Got home with no computer. The expert(Finbarr) told me that technology changes so quickly that it is not worth buying anything fancy as it will be out of date in months time...he suggested to get a DELL ordered via the web and have it delivered to my door...will think about it. Do not trust the concept though like to see what I buy!
Now to get to those whom I have not heard of ...Sue what happened to you...hope you are ok? I do not expect any of you to write letters but just a hello every now and again will be much appreciated!Thank you to those who so diligently write a note! Joy I hope all goes well with the wedding!
Birthday for the next week Jaco(G+B) today, then 18th Georg and 19th Arnolda..Many happy returns of your birthdays!!!!
Tomorrow is the best day of the week for me and the Psalms and Hymns are well practiced and the fellowship with other believers is always a wonderful experience!!!
Looking back at the last sentence the verb in action pertains to 'fellowship' which would be singular but if you look at 'believers' it should be 'are' HELP!!!!
Please watch your step, Always be alert, Be careful in your travels,
Take care
Much love
Barry & Christina (Stien..ens)
